The Martha Bassett Show welcomes Heather Maloney, Tatiana Hargreaves & Sonya Badigian, and Ryan Newcomb! This old-time inspired radio show is recorded live at the Reeves Theater in Elkin, NC and is broadcast on 88.5 WFDD, live streamed to social media, and presented as a podcast. It features the music of national and regional artists along with the music of Martha Bassett.
HEATHER MALONEY – The daughter of a psychotherapist and a carpenter, Heather Maloney's songwriting is equal parts introspective and relatable. Maloney has toured nationally as a headliner as well as in support of acts like Lake Street Dive, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Gary Clark Jr., Colin Hay, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and many more.
TATIANA HARGREAVES & SONYA BADIGIAN –Tatiana and Sonya are Durham-based musicians who will be warming our hearts and minds with stellar old time tunes. They are highly accomplished musicians, regularly melting the faces of nearby listeners at fiddler's conventions and jams across the country. As individual performers, they've collected the honors of opening for Rhiannon Giddens, winning the Appalachian State fiddler's competition, and playing at the Floyd Country Store.
RYAN NEWCOMB – Music has always been at the center of Winston-Salem based artist Ryan Newcomb’s life. He started singing in his church when he was only 6 years old. On his 14th birthday, Ryan’s parents caved in and bought their son his very first guitar. What was born was the accompaniment to his voice that Ryan had always sought. From the moment he began to play the guitar, he seemingly began to write. “I always had a place in my heart that wanted to play. It turned out that this place in my heart was actually a desire to write.”
